Al-QuburIbn Abi al-Dunya
  1. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Bukhārī narrated to us—al-Aʿmash said: “I lived among the people, and whenever a funeral passed among them they would come and sit in absolute silence, uttering not a word. Once the bier was set down, I saw every man clasping his knees to his chest, as though the deceased were his own father, brother, or son.”
