- Muḥammad narrated to me; Zakariyyā ibn ʿAdī narrated to us; ʿUbāʾah ibn Kulayb al-Laythī narrated to us; Marthad al-Hanāʾī told me that Jābir ibn Zayd said: I was present at the funeral of a man from our neighborhood. After the funeral prayer had been offered, the people said, “Abū al-Shaʿthāʾ, why don’t you lower him into his grave?” So he went down to lay him in the grave, but before he could come back out he fainted, and they carried him out unconscious.
٤٨- حدثني محمد ثنا زكريا بن عدي ثنا عباءة بن كليب الليثي حدثني مرثد الهنائي إن جابر بن زيد قال شهد جنازة رجل من الحي فلما صل عليها قالوا يا أبا الشعثاء لو أدخلته قبره فنزل ليدخله قبره فغشي عليه قبل أن يخرج من القبر فاحتمل من القبر مغشيا عليه.
