- Muḥammad narrated to me; Fahd ibn Ḥayyān narrated to us; Sahl ibn Aslam al-ʿAdawī narrated; he said: Someone who had attended a funeral with Muṭarrif ibn ʿAbd Allāh told me that when the soil had been leveled over the deceased, Muṭarrif said, “Praise be to Allah; as for this man, his journey has now come to an end.”
٤٢- حدثني محمد ثنا فهد بن حيان ثنا سهل بن أسلم العدوي حدثني من شهد مطرف بن عبد الله في جنازة فلما سوي التراب على الميت قال مطرف الحمد لله أما هذا فقد قطع سفره.
