- Muḥammad narrated to me; Dāwūd ibn al-Muḥabbar narrated to us. He said: I heard Ṣāliḥ al-Marrī say, “In Basra I encountered young men and elders who would attend funerals. When they returned, it was as though they had been raised from their own graves, and—by Allah—afterward a palpable increase in their righteousness could be seen in them.”
٣٧- حدثني محمد ثنا داود بن المحبر قال سمعت صالح المري يقول أدركت بالبصرة شبابا وشيوخا يشهدون الجنائز يرجعون منها كأنهم نشروا من قبورهم فيعرف فيهم والله الزيادة بعد ذلك.
