- Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me; Isḥāq Abū Yaʿqūb al-Ḍarīr narrated to me; Masmaʿ ibn ʿĀṣim narrated, from Hawshab ibn Muslim, who said: “I lived in a time when, if someone in the neighborhood died, you could not distinguish his closest kinsman from anyone else, so overwhelming was their grief and so abundant their weeping for him. I then lived on until I found that almost all of this had disappeared.”
