260 – Muḥammad narrated to me; Mahdī ibn Ḥafṣ transmitted it to us; Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Zāhid said: “In Jerusalem I read these words carved on a staff:

‘Your life is spent in a dwelling from which, once you are gone, those who trusted in you will live in fear; and you will be snatched away from the very refuge to which you cling.’”
