253 – He said: Suraij ibn Yunus related to me; ʿUthman ibn Matar ⦗187⦘ transmitted on the authority of al-Haytham ibn Jumaz, from Layth, from Mujahid, who said: When Abraham raised the foundations of the House, he discovered a stone on which was inscribed:

“O children of Adam, sow good and you will reap joy; do not sow evil, or you will harvest remorse. O children of Adam, you commit sins and then reject the resulting punishments—indeed, grapes are never gathered from thorns.”
