214 – Muḥammad told me: “I once read the following inscription on a grave in one of the cemeteries:

In his grave the dead knows neither Eid al-Fitr nor Eid al-Adha;
no living remains—he is far from his family though buried so near.
Such is the grave when it becomes one’s dwelling.”
