196 – Abu ʿAbd Allah al-Tamimi narrated to me; Siyar reported from Jaʿfar, from Malik ibn Dinar, that he would often recite:

“Death is sermon enough, if you would but observe;
So, for your own soul, keep vigil where you are—or else sleep.”
