181 – Muḥammad narrated to me; he said: Dāwūd ibn Mihrān related to us; he said: Shuʿayb ibn Abī Ḥamzah said:

ʿUmar ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz once wrote to one of the cities of al-Shām:

To proceed: How many portions of the child of Adam’s body does the earth devour, and how many passages do the worms bore through his belly! I therefore warn you—and my own self—O people—of the inevitable presentation before Allah.
