171 – Abu Bakr ibn al-Aghar narrated to me; Khalaf ibn Tamim transmitted it; he said, “I heard Yazid ibn Maghūl recite:

Where are our fathers, and where the fathers of our fathers?—
where, oh where, are all the forefathers gone?

They reached the watering-place of death and disappeared,
and—alas for us—the time has come for us to follow them.”
