169 – Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-‘Abdi told me; Abu Dawud transmitted it from ‘Imarah ibn Mihran al-Ma‘wali, who said:

Muhammad ibn Wasi‘ once remarked to me, “I find your house most appealing.”

I replied, “What do you find appealing about my house when it stands beside the graves?”

He answered, “What harm is that? Their inhabitants rarely trouble you and they constantly remind you of the Hereafter.”
