- Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to us; Sahl ibn ʿĀṣim in turn related to us; Wadāʿ ibn Marja ibn Wadāʿ conveyed the report and said: I heard Bishr ibn Manṣūr say that ʿAtāʾ al-Azraq once told me, “When you enter a graveyard, make sure your heart is with those among whose graves you stand. For ⦗54⦘ one night, while I was asleep in the cemetery and lost in thought, I suddenly heard a voice cry out: ‘Take heed, O heedless one! You are surrounded either by someone who is luxuriating in bliss, gently indulged, or by someone who is being punished in the throes of agony, bound in chains.’”
