157 – Abū … al-ʿAbdī related to me; Baqiyyah ibn al-Walīd narrated to us; al-Khalīl ibn Jamīʿ al-Baṣrī transmitted from Naʿīm ibn Salāmah that he used to say: When casting handfuls of earth over ⦗140⦘ the deceased, he would say over the first handful, “In the name of Allah,” over the second, “All dominion belongs to Allah,” and over the third, “He has no partner.”
