149 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbbād ibn Mūsā narrated to me; Kathīr ibn Hishām reported to us, from Abū al-Miqdām, who said:
I was walking with al-Ḥasan as we were returning from the funeral of Bakr ibn ⦗133⦘ ʿAbd Allāh. I asked him, “What is your understanding of Allah’s words: ‘And behind them is a barrier until the day they are resurrected’?” He glanced to his right and to his left and replied, “It is these very people—those now in their graves—who are in that barzakh. As you see, riders hasten back and forth above them, yet they do not hear a sound.”
