143 – Muḥammad ibn Idrīs al-Ḥanẓalī narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Juʿfī narrated to us; Abū Usāmah narrated from ʿUmar ibn Ḥamzah, who said: I heard Abū Ghuṭafān al-Murri relate that ʿUmar said, “O Messenger of Allah, if at times we are gripped by fear, then what of the grave with its darkness and constriction?” The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, replied, “A servant will only be repaid according to the state in which he dies.”
