- Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to us; al-Walīd ibn al-Agharr al-Makkī narrated; ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṭalḥa ibn Muḥammad al-Taymī said: I heard Saʿīd ibn al-Sāʾib al-Ṭāʾifī say, while we were at a funeral, “By Allah, death has left the soul no delight in either family or child. By Allah, death has so curtailed for the believers the ease they once enjoyed in this world that it has become constricted for them, and they have gladly cast it aside, rejoicing to be rid of it.” He said—then a tear escaped him, and he rose.
