100 – ʿAbd al-Muʾmin ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿĪsā al-Qaysī related: People once said to a grave-robber who had repented, “What is the most remarkable thing you have ever witnessed?” He answered, “I exhumed a man and found him pinned with nails all over his body, an especially large nail driven into his head and another into his legs. ⦗102⦘

Someone asked a different grave-robber, “What led you to repent?” He replied, “With most of the graves I opened, I would find the deceased’s face turned away from the qibla.”
