And how could you ever fear a stumble,
You, the devout—what room is there for fear or caution?
Next, blessings upon the Chosen One of the clan of Muḍar—
for whose sake the laden clouds pour down their rain in entreaty (1).
The poem is now complete. The final line, however, is not by its original author; it was added by the servant in need of Allah, Zayn al-Dīn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAbd al-Hādī—may Allah forgive him, his forebears, and all Muslims. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The poem comprises 79 lines.
The Shaykh—may Allah’s mercy be upon him—was elegized in many other odes besides this one, but what has been cited here suffices.
This marks the end of the abridged account of his virtues. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may His blessings be upon Muhammad, his family, and all his Companions.
