I have annotated the book’s text with whatever I judged beneficial to the reader and unlikely to overburden the volume. I hope that, by Allah’s grace, I have succeeded in this—if not completely, then at least in part.
I then concluded the work with two additions:
First, the poems that do not appear in the base manuscript yet are found in the other copies;
Second, a set of informative indexes, both lexical and thematic.
Next, I appended to it the book Al-Aʿlām al-ʿAliyyah fī Manāqib Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah by Abū Ḥafṣ ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī al-Bazzār (d. 749 AH). In its introduction (p. 731) I explain why it has been joined to Al-ʿUqūd al-Durriyyah.
Prior to all of this, I placed an introduction that offers a brief biography of the author, followed by several studies introducing the book itself.
Praise belongs to Allah, by whose favor righteous deeds are completed. May Allah’s blessings and abundant peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
