do not know. “We set forth such parables for mankind, but none understand them except those who have knowledge” (al-ʽAnkabūt 29:43).
O Allah, You are the All-Knowing who is never taught, the All-Generous who is never begrudging (1). You know, O Knower of the unseen and the visible, that our hearts have ceaselessly raised toward You pure and truthful supplications, and that our tongues in both private and public moments have unwaveringly pleaded that You support this blessed, auspicious Nāṣirid sultanic realm with ever-increasing glory, exaltation, and empowerment, and that You fulfill our hopes for it by exalting the Word, for in this (2) lie the strengthening of the very foundations of the religion and the suppression (3) of the machinations of the heretics. It is a state that has remained free of the taint of bias and injustice, and safe from the tyranny of pen and sword.
What the consciences of Muslims harbor and the inner souls of the believers contain is the certainty that the Sultan, the king who gives victory to the faith, is among those about whom the Lord of all worlds, the God of the heavens and the earth—by whose granting of power in His land (4) the empowerment of earthly kings and mighty sovereigns is itself achieved—has spoken in His Noble Book that is recited; so let whoever wishes reflect: “Those who, when We establish them in the land, perform the prayer, give the zakat, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong” (al-Hajj 22:41). He is indeed one whom Allah has firmly established upon the earth with a certainty that admits of no doubt.
