Al-Uqud al-Durriyya - Ibn Abd al-Hadi - (الكتاب/340)

Therefore, I beseech Allah the Magnificent to enrich you and assist you (1), to extend His support to you and strengthen you with a spirit from Him, to delight the eyes of the believers through you, to disgrace through you the disbelievers (2) and the hypocrites, to grant you success in what He loves and is pleased with, to take charge of all your affairs, and to help you discharge them in a way that pleases Allah and His Messenger (3).

Peace be upon you (4) ⦗99⦘, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Peace likewise upon the blessed, noble, and virtuous lady whom Allah has approved and satisfied, for whom—after we met her—He made Paradise her abode and refuge (5), and to whom He allowed the vision of His gracious Countenance in the abode of bliss—our mother, whom Allah honored in the twilight of her life with this tremendous distinction, lofty station, and exalted rank. Upon her be the most complete (6) and abundant greetings of peace.

And peace upon all the family, companions, and brethren (7), upon acquaintances and neighbors, the elder and the young, the near and the distant—upon every single one of them the fullest (8) greetings of peace. They are well aware that I am unable to name them all individually. May Allah Most High be pleased with them all and, after the victory of the religion of Allah and His Messenger, gather us and them upon what He loves and approves.

(1) The words “yughni-ka wa” (“and it will suffice you”) are not found in MS K. (2) The other manuscripts read “al-kuffar” (“the unbelievers”). (3) The phrase “bima yurdi Allah wa rasulahu” (“in a way that pleases Allah and His Messenger”) is missing from B. (4) MS F reads “alaykum” (“upon you”). (5) B has: “… al-karima allati … al-janna maʾwaha …” (“… the noble [one] whose abode is Paradise …”). (6) F and K read “wa-akmal” (“and more complete”). (7) The remaining manuscripts add “wa-l-ikhwan wa-l-ashab” (“and the brothers and companions”). (8) In F and K this is replaced by “lahu” (“for him”).

فأسأل الله العظيم أن يُغْنيك ويعينك (١)، ويمدَّك ويؤيدك بروح منه، وأن يُقرَّ بك أعينَ المؤمنين، وأن يُخْزيَ بك الكافرين (٢) والمنافقين، وأن يوفقك لما يحبه ويرضاه، وأن يتولَّاك في جميع الأمور، ويعينك على القيام فيها بما يرضي اللهَ ورسولَه (٣). والسلام عليك (٤) [ق ٩٩] ورحمة الله وبركاته. وعلى السَّعيدة الكريمة الطيبة التي ﵂ وأرضاها، وجعل ــ بعد اجتماعنا بها ــ الجنةَ دارَها ومأواها (٥)، وأراها وجْهَه الكريم في دار النعيم: الوالدةِ التي منحها الله في آخر عمرها هذه الكرامة العظيمة، والمنزلة الرفيعة، والدرجة العليَّة= أكمل (٦) السلام وأنماه. وعلى جميع الأهلِ والأصحابِ والإخوانِ (٧)، والمعارفِ والجيرانِ، كبيرهم وصغيرهم، قريبهم وبعيدهم، كلِّ فردٍ فردٍ أتمُّ (٨) السلام. وغير خافٍ عنهم العجزُ عن حصرهم. فالله تعالى يرضى عن جميعهم، ويجمعنا وإياهم ــ بعد نصر دين الله ورسوله ــ على ما يحبُّه ويرضاه.
