Itiqad Aimmat al-Hadith - Abu Bakr al-Isma’ili - (71)

[Abandoning Disputes and Argumentation in Religion]
They hold that disputes and argumentation concerning the Quran and other matters should be avoided, because Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, says:

“None dispute concerning the signs of Allah except those who disbelieve.” [Ghāfir: 4]

This means disputing them in denial of their truth. And Allah knows best.

[The Caliphate of the Rightly Guided Caliphs]
They affirm the caliphate of Abū Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, after the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, through the Companions’ choice of him; then the caliphate of ‘Umar after Abū Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, through Abū Bakr’s appointment of him as his successor; then the caliphate of ‘Uthmān, may Allah be pleased with him, through the agreement of the members of the consultative council

(1) Explaining this verse, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When a Muslim is questioned in the grave, he testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. This is what Allah Most High means by His words: ‘Allah keeps those who believe firm with the firm word in this worldly life and in the Hereafter.’” Recorded by al-Bukhārī.

تفسيره عن النبي (١) . [ترك الخصومات والمراء في الدين] ويرون ترك الخصومات والمراء في القرآن وغيره، لقول الله ﷿: ﴿مَا يُجَادِلُ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا﴾ [غافر: ٤] يعني يجادل فيها تكذيبا بها والله أعلم. [خلافة الخلفاء الراشدين] ويثبتون خلافة أبي بكر ﵁ بعد رسول الله ﷺ، باختيار الصحابة إياه، ثم خلافة عمر بعد أبي بكر ﵁ باستخلاف أبي بكر إياه، ثم خلافة عثمان ﵁ باجتماع أهل الشورى

(١) قال النبي ﷺ في تفسير هذه الآية: (المسلم إذا سئل في القبر يشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله، فذلك قول الله تعالى: يثبت الله الذين آمنوا بالقول الثابت في الحياة الدنيا وفي الآخرة.) ، أخرجه البخاري.
