Know—may Allah have mercy on us and on you—that the creed of the people of hadith, the people of the Sunnah and the community, is to affirm belief in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers, and to accept what Allah’s Book declares and what is authentically transmitted from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. There can be no departing from what these convey, nor any rejecting it. For they have been commanded to follow the Book and the Sunnah and assured of guidance through them.
