benefit, except as Allah wills. They are in need of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and cannot do without Him at any time.
[The Descent to the Lowest Heaven]
And He, the Almighty and Majestic, descends to the lowest heaven, in accordance with the authentic report (1) from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, without holding any belief as to how He does so (2).
[The Believers’ Seeing Their Lord in the Hereafter]
And they believe that it is possible for God-fearing servants to see Allah, the Almighty and Majestic
(1) In *Aqīdat al-Salaf Ashāb al-Hadīth* (The Creed of the Early Generations, the Adherents of Hadith): “In accordance with what is authentically reported from the Messenger ﷺ. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has said: ‘Do they await anything but that Allah should come to them in canopies of clouds?’ He also said: ‘And your Lord comes, and the angels, rank upon rank.’ We believe in all of this as it has come down to us.”
(2) In *Aqīdat al-Salaf Ashāb al-Hadīth*: “Without specifying how. Had He, glorified be He, willed to explain to us how this is, He would have done so. We therefore stopped at what is unequivocal and refrained from delving into what is ambiguous, as we were commanded in His words, exalted is He: ‘He is the One who has sent down to you the Book. In it are unequivocal verses, which are the foundation of the Book, and others that are ambiguous. Those in whose hearts is deviation follow what is ambiguous in it, seeking discord and seeking its interpretation. None knows its interpretation except Allah. And those firmly grounded in knowledge say: We believe in it; all of it is from our Lord. Yet none take heed except those of understanding.’”
نفعا إلا ما شاء الله، وإنهم فقراء إلى الله ﷿، لا غنى لهم عنه في كل وقت.
[النزول إلى السماء الدنيا]
وأنه ﷿ ينزل إلى السماء الدنيا على ما صح به الخبر (١) عن رسول الله ﷺ، بلا اعتقاد كيف فيه (٢) .
[رؤية المؤمنين ربهم في الآخرة]
ويعتقدون جواز الرؤية من العباد المتقين لله ﷿
(١) في عقيدة السلف أصحاب الحديث: (على ما صح به الخبر عن الرسول ﷺ، وقد قال ﷿: هل ينظرون إلا أن يأتيهم الله في ظلل من الغمام وقال: وجاء ربك والملك صفا صفا ونؤمن بذلك كله على ما جاء) .
(٢) في عقيدة السلف أصحاب الحديث: (بلا كيف، فلو شاء سبحانه أن يبين لنا كيفية ذلك فعل، فانتهينا إلى ما أحكم وكففنا عن الذي يتشابه، إذ كنا قد أمرنا به في قوله تعالى: هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات هن أم الكتاب وأخر متشابهات فأما الذين في قلوبهم زيغ فيتبعون ما تشابه منه ابتغاء الفتنة وابتغاء تأويله وما يعلم تأويله إلا الله والراسخون في العلم يقولون آمنا به كل من عند ربنا وما يذكر إلا أولو الألباب) .
