[Affirming Allah’s Will]
And they say what all Muslims say: “Whatever Allah wills comes to pass, and whatever He does not will does not come to pass,” as He, the Most High, says:

Abū ‘Umar and al-Khaffāf said: “I visited al-Bukhārī and discussed hadiths with him until I felt reassured. I then said, ‘Abū ‘Abd Allāh, someone here reports that you made this statement.’ He replied, ‘Abū ‘Amr, remember what I tell you: Whoever among the people of Nishapur, Qūmis, Rayy, Hamadhān, Hulwān, Baghdad, Kufa, Basra, Mecca, and Medina claims that I said, “My utterance of the Quran is created,” is a liar, for I never said it. I only said that the acts of servants are created.’” Tārīkh Baghdād, 2/32; introduction to Fath al-Bārī, p. 492; Siyar A‘lām al-Nubalā’, 12/457–458.
