Allah’s ways in the universe and following His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).

If this is his approach and way, his affairs will become easier for him. This applies especially to someone who needs to instruct people, forbid them from wrongdoing and guide them, for he cannot do without gentleness and kindness. Likewise, someone who is subjected to people’s abusive words, yet refrains from trading insults and defends himself gently and kindly, will ward off harm that he could not avert by responding with words and deeds like theirs. In addition, he will have gained peace, tranquillity, composure and forbearance.

Consider, too, the gentleness embodied in His law: its rulings were prescribed gradually, with latitude and ease, and in a manner suited to His servants. Consider also the wisdom in His creation: He created beings in stages and moved them from one state to another, with wisdom and secrets beyond the grasp of human minds.

A servant’s gentleness does not conflict with resolve. He may be gentle and deliberate in his affairs while neither letting opportunities slip when they arise nor neglecting them when they present themselves.”1.

40 - The Watchful: (The Watchful, the Witness)

He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—said: “The Watchful and the Witness are among His most beautiful names. They are synonymous: both indicate that Allah’s hearing encompasses everything audible, His sight encompasses everything visible, and His knowledge encompasses everything knowable, whether apparent or hidden. He watches over the thoughts that pass through minds and the movements of glancing eyes—and, all the more so, the outward actions of the limbs 2.

The Watchful is the One who knows what hearts conceal, who watches over every soul and what it earns, who preserves created beings and governs them with the finest order and the most perfect management 3.
