My servants”1. And He says:
“He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy” 2.
An authentic hadith states: “Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child” 3.
Another hadith states: “Allah wrote a decree, which is with Him above His Throne: ‘My mercy has preceded My wrath’” 4.
In short, Allah created all creatures through His mercy, sent messengers to them through His mercy, and commanded them, prohibited them, and prescribed laws for them through His mercy. He lavished outward and inward blessings upon them through His mercy, governed all their affairs and directed all their circumstances through His mercy, and filled this world and the Hereafter with His mercy. Nothing turns out well, nothing becomes easy, and no aims or aspirations are attained except through His mercy. Yet His mercy is beyond all this—greater and more exalted. Those who do good and fear Allah have an abundant share of His mercy and ever-increasing goodness: “Indeed, Allah’s mercy is near to those who do good” 5.”6.
