Possessor of Majesty and Honor, the Most Kind, the Exalter, the Abaser, the Lord

31 - Possessor of Majesty and Honor 4:

He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—said:

“Possessor of Majesty and Honor means: possessed of greatness and grandeur, and of mercy, generosity, and benevolence, both general and particular. He honors His allies and chosen servants, who revere Him, exalt Him, and love Him” 5.

32 - The Most Kind 6:

He—may Allah Most High have mercy on him—said: “The Most Kind means: exceedingly kind to His servants. Part of His kindness and mercy toward them is that He brings to completion the blessing He initially bestowed upon them.

Part of His kindness is that He enables them to fulfill His rights and the rights of His servants.

Part of His kindness and mercy is that He has instilled fear in His servants and sternly warned them against error and corruption, as

(1) Al-Mujādila (58:7). (2) Al-Sajda (32:17). (3) Al-Mawāhib al-rabbāniyya min al-āyāt al-Qur’āniyya, pp. 63–64. (4) This is one of Allah’s names expressed in a possessive construction (idāfa). As explained earlier in the study, such names are not included among Allah’s Most Beautiful Names. (5) Al-Tafsīr, 5:626. (6) The evidence for this name is Allah Most High’s statement: “And Allah warns you against Himself, and Allah is Most Kind to His servants” (Āl ‘Imrān 3:30).

ذو الجلال والإكرام، الرؤوف، الرافع الخافض، الرب ٣١ - ذو الجلال والإكرام٤: قال رحمه الله تعالى: "ذو الجلال والإكرام أي: ذو العظمة، والكبرياء، وذو الرحمة، والجود، والإحسان العام، والخاص، المكرم لأوليائه، وأصفيائه الذي يجلونه ويعظمونه ويحبونه"٥. ٣٢ - الرؤوف٦: قال رحمه الله تعالى: "الرؤوف أي: شديد الرأفة بعباده فمن رأفته ورحمته بهم أن يتم عليهم نعمته التي ابتدأهم بها. ومن رأفته توفيقهم القيام بحقوقه وحقوق عباده. ومن رأفته ورحمته أنه خوف العباد، وزجرهم عن الغي، والفساد كما
