23 – The All-Wise1:
He, may Allah Most High have mercy on him, said: “The All-Wise is the One whose wisdom is supreme in His creation and His commands, who has perfected everything He created:
‘And who is better than Allah in judgment for a people who are certain in faith?’ 2.
He creates nothing in vain and prescribes nothing without purpose. Judgment belongs to Him in this world and the Hereafter. His alone are the three forms of judgment, in which no one shares: He judges between His servants through His revealed law, His decree, and His recompense.
Wisdom means putting things in their proper places and assigning them their fitting stations3.
The All-Wise is the One whose wisdom and judgment between created beings are perfect. His knowledge and awareness of the beginnings and outcomes of all matters are vast. He is worthy of boundless praise, perfect in power, and abundant in mercy. He puts things in their proper places and assigns them their fitting stations in His creation and His commands. Thus, no objection can be raised against Him, nor can any argument impugn His wisdom.
His wisdom is of two kinds:
The first is His wisdom in His creation. He created all things in truth, imbued His creation with truth, and made truth its ultimate end and intended purpose. He created all beings within the finest order, arranged them in the most perfect way, and gave each creature the form suited to it. Indeed, He gave every part of every created being, and every limb of every animal, its particular form and structure. No one can find any flaw, deficiency, or fissure in His creation. Were all the minds of creation, from the first to the last, to come together to devise anything like the creation of the Most Merciful, or anything approaching the beauty, order, and perfection He has placed in created things, they would be unable to do so. How could they possibly have the ability to accomplish any of that?
