The All-Seeing, the Accepter of Repentance

12 - The All-Seeing2:

The author, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

“The All-Seeing is He whose sight encompasses everything visible throughout the earth and the heavens, even the most hidden things within them. He sees a black ant crawling across a solid rock on a dark night, all its internal and external organs, and nourishment passing through its tiny limbs. He sees water flowing through the branches and roots of trees and through all plants, however varied their kinds, however small and delicate they may be. He sees the deep-seated3 veins of the ant, the bee, the mosquito, and creatures smaller still.

Glory be to Him of whose greatness minds speak, and of the vast scope of His attributes, His perfect majesty, His subtlety, and His knowledge of the unseen and the seen, the present and the absent. He sees the treacherous glances of the eyes, the movements of the eyelids, and the stirrings of the heart. Allah Most High says:

‘Who sees you when you stand, and your movements among those who prostrate. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.’4

‘He knows the treachery of the eyes and what the hearts conceal.’5

‘And Allah is Witness over all things.’6

That is, He observes all things, and His knowledge, sight, and hearing encompass everything in existence7.
