The Manifest indicates the greatness of His attributes, how all things—both beings and attributes—pale into insignificance before His greatness, and His exaltedness.
The Hidden indicates His knowledge of innermost secrets, thoughts, hidden and concealed matters, and the minutest details of things. It also indicates the perfection of His nearness and proximity. The Manifest and the Hidden are not incompatible, for nothing is like Allah in any of His attributes. He is the Most High in His nearness, the Near in His exaltedness1.
